The return of Jose Mourinho to Chelsea is highlighted by the number of declarations made by the Portugese football manager.
Following the admission of his vested belief in the greatness of the Premier League, the newly-appointed Chelsea boss has now promised to lead Chelsea back into the top tier of the league.
Chelsea has been on a slow spiral to declination in the recent years, and now the Blues’ boss has insisted that economic spending and hard work is the key to the club’s success.
“We have to improve the team, but when I say improve, people are already thinking about how many millions Chelsea will spend,” Mourinho told The Sun.
“I mean through work. Work hard, work professionally and make the team better. My work here has to improve players and improve the team. If I don’t do that, I am not happy with myself.”
The club was at the top of the Premier League ladder during Mourinho’s initial reign of Chelsea, but has fallen behind the Manchester clubs in the race for major domestic honours recently.
To put his tactics to test, he has stressed on the importance of his squad participating for pre-season training next month.
He also insisted: “In spite of my white hairs, which I didn’t have in 2004, I’m still very strong at work.”
