Although only Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant has more points than Embiid in the league this season, he contributed just 10 as the Sixers went down 113-102 to the high-flying Toronto Raptors on Wednesday.
And reflecting on his performance against the Raptors, Embiid was his own toughest critic, telling reporters: “I suck. I wasn’t making anything.
“In fact, in the past few games, I’ve been so trash. I have got to figure that part out if I want to help the team win some games.”
However, Philly coach Brett Brown believes Toronto deserve credit for restricting Embiid to a season-low 10 points.
“[The Raptors] did a good job of going after him, double-teaming him,” Brown said. “That’s part of it. He’s that good.”
