Dhaka - Inspired by the unique painted rickshaws which pack the streets of the Bangladeshi cities, the logo for the ICC World Twenty20 2014 was unveiled on a star-studded evening here Saturday night. At a glittering gala and in the presence of the International Cricket Council (ICC) vice president Mustafa Kamal and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan, the logo for the tournament was launched exactly one year ahead of the tournament finals....

The marquee clash will be a trial by fire for both the finalists. Their ability to play spin on a turning track will come under the scanner, if we have a wicket anything similar to the India-Pakistan game or the New Zealand-Bangladesh game. This might well be one of those low scoring thrillers if the previous matches here are anything to go by. West Indies start favourites, having played some imposing, ultra aggressive brand of cricket that you normally associate with the ever-smiling Calypso boys....

With Mohun Bagan waiting in the wings after Sunday’s clash, coach Trevor Morgan will want to repeat his 2010-11 six-game winning streak on the morrow, and on paper, it should not be much of a problem....

While the venue for the Super Cup is yet to be confirmed, there have been strong rumours suggesting that Kochi, Kerala is one of the front-runners to host the tournament that will see the ISL clubs taking on the I-League sides. The other venue that is said to have been considered is Cuttack, Odisha. However, the popularity of football in Kerala is something that has been well documented over the last few years, especially after the advent of the ISL in 2014, and that is one reason why Kochi is said to have become a strong contender to host the Super Cup....

Previously, two of Bagan’s most influential men, Srinjoy Bose and Debashish Dutta turned down their responsibilities owing to the non-co-operation received from club secretary Anjan Mitra. New Delhi - The Indian Badminton League School Programme (IBLSP) today launched ‘Shuttle Express’, the biggest school championship to promote the sport across India. Under IBLSP, badminton icons like Olympic medallist Saina Nehwal, former all-England champion Pullela Gopichand, Jwala Gutta, Ashwini Ponnappa, Parupalli Kashyap and P.V. Sindhu will visit school campuses across India to promote badminton and encourage around five lakh students from more than 120 schools in six different cities....
